This is a throwback to one of my favorite winter weddings! Christine and Justin got married in November, 2018, at Five Pine Lodge in Sisters, Oregon. These photos were taken by the amazing ElissaDelinePhotography.
They did their dreamy first look outside, and despite the freezing temperatures, the sun shone through the trees and offered incredible lighting!
They had been together eight years by the time they got married! Their vows were heartfelt and emotional—they dated long-distance while Justin traveled in the military, they powered through years of school to complete their PhD’s, and would finally be able to travel together and work at the same hospital as doctors once married.
Rather than rush into family photos, they went from their recessional into a receiving line so they could greet each of their guests first.
The joy on their faces as they signed their marriage license was contagious!
Their indoor reception dinner was cozy, safe from the winter evening weather.
Their chocolate cake decorated with pomegranates was an elegant wintery touch.
One of their reception activities was the Shoe Game, and they took it one step further by inviting their guests to participate by writing down the questions they wanted their DJ to ask them on the dancefloor.
To play the Shoe Game, both partners remove their shoes and each exchange one, and sit back to back on the dancefloor. As the DJ reads the questions, they lift the shoe of the person who is the answer to the question! My favorite question was, “Who will be the first person to say, ‘let’s get another cat?’” since Christine and Justin already had 2!
Their first dance was romantic and unchoreographed. Watching them together was beautiful, because they were so obviously, blissfully in love.
They were on the dancefloor with their guests all night long. One of my all-time favorite couples to work with!
